The Role v Identity Illusion™ - identity coaching for men
This is a four week private coaching experience for spiritually awakening men in midlife who are ready to separate who they are from w ho they learned to be.
You stay in work that drains you because people depend on your income.
You agree to something, resent it later, and blame yourself for being irritated.
You make a decision and begin questioning it as soon as someone reacts.
You tell your partner nothing is wrong because you cannot explain what is happening.
You feel distant from the people you love even when you are sitting beside them.
You have started questioning beliefs and expectations that once shaped your entire life.
You keep parts of your spiritual identity hidden because you are unsure how people will respond.
You know something needs to change. Every option feels like it will disappoint someone.
The roles that built your life may now be controlling it.
You became the provider, protector, problem solver, peacemaker, husband, father, employee, and dependable one.
Each role came with rules:
Keep everyone safe.
Do not create problems.
Handle it yourself.
Be grateful.
Do not change direction now.
Do not disappoint anyone.
After years of living by those rules, it becomes difficult to hear what you think, want, or know without immediately measuring it against everyone else’s needs.
It costs you time in work you no longer want.
It costs you closeness in relationships where you no longer feel fully present.
It costs you energy because every decision becomes an internal argument.
It costs you self respect every time you say yes while knowing you want to say no.
It costs you opportunities because you wait for certainty or approval that never comes.
It costs you the parts of yourself you keep postponing until everyone else is taken care of.
I learned survival early. I was bullied, beaten up, and verbally abused. School rarely held my attention, and I spent much of those years feeling bored, disconnected, and convinced that something was wrong with me.
After school, I drifted for years. I had no clear direction and very little belief in myself. At one point, I stole because I was trying to survive. That decision landed me in jail for 45 days.
More followed. Bad decisions. Dead end jobs. Relationships built from fear instead of knowing who I was. I got married largely because I was terrified of being alone. When that marriage ended, the divorce pulled me through accusations, court battles, and a fight to remain part of my son’s life.
Later, another woman ended our relationship with four lines on a piece of paper and no real explanation.
Each time something fell apart, I carried the pain forward. I became angrier, more defensive, and more convinced that life kept happening to me. I suffered quietly because I believed I was supposed to handle it myself.
Eventually, I reached a level of despair that nearly ended my life.
The road back was slow. I had to face the parts of myself I had spent years avoiding. The anger. The fear. The choices I regretted. The roles I performed to feel accepted, needed, or safe.
Then I faced the truth that changed everything:
I was the common denominator.
That did not make me responsible for what other people had done, it made me responsible for what I did next... I stopped waiting for someone else to change my life. I began questioning the beliefs I had carried since childhood, understanding the patterns behind my choices, and rebuilding the relationship I had with myself. I learned to trust my judgment, take responsibility without destroying myself, and make decisions from who I was becoming.
That work led me back to love, purpose, my spiritual connection, and the life I have now It also led me here.
The Role v Identity Illusion™ comes from understanding what happens when a man spends years surviving through roles and finally reaches the point where he can no longer recognize himself beneath them
